COVID-19 Antioch Services, Groups & Gatherings

Dear Antioch Family and Friends,

Thank you for your patience, prayer, and flexibility with the necessary changes Antioch is making in response to COVID-19. As with most organizations, new information and consequent recommendations are being released on a daily basis.

On Sunday morning, I gathered with a very small group of Antioch’s leaders to pray and call out to God. As believers, this is our first and most critical response. God is present and near to us in this crisis. And while I do not believe that He is the cause of this virus or its consequences, I firmly believe that He can and will utilize every circumstance of life to reveal Himself and bring about GOOD.

As of yesterday afternoon, Monday, March 16, the Center for Disease Control and our state and federal elected officials have recommended that group gatherings be limited to 10 people for the next 15 days. The elders and senior staff of Antioch are complying with this guideline by canceling all ministry events, activities and groups of any size through the month of March and our Sunday morning services through the month of April. Smaller auxiliary ministries such as youth, young adults, Life Groups, and weekly prayer will be re-evaluated after the 15 day restriction. To the parents of our youth, there will be no Wednesday night GC gatherings the next two weeks and Christian Tonkins will reach out to you directly to communicate creative ways of connecting from the first week of April and beyond.

Our pastoral team will be recording resources for your personal encouragement and to utilize with your family or smaller groups in place of our weekly worship gathering, beginning this Sunday. These will be available via link on our website and our e-blast. We are creating a broader small groups infrastructure to be implemented on Sunday mornings as soon as the group size restriction is lifted. And we have some special things in the works for Easter Sunday, which if I’m going to be completely honest, I’m really saddened that we will not be physically together for.

Our service to you is of utmost importance to our ministry staff. The leaders of our auxiliary ministries will be reaching out to you and praying for you weekly, but this is also a perfect time for each of us to reach out to one another. All of us communicating, caring, and ministering will always be greater than a few of us.

We will be increasing the frequency of our communication by written, video, and conferencing platforms in the weeks to come for greater connection and guidance. Social distancing does not and should not mean social disconnection. This is an excellent opportunity for us to expand and deepen our meaningful relationships within Antioch and beyond. We will be utilizing the following platforms to facilitate this:

Weekly E-Blast (Newsletter): This will be the primary means of getting information out more frequently so please do not unsubscribe should you desire to remain connected through this medium. If you are not receiving the E-blast, you can go to the main page of the Antioch Website and scroll down to the “Be in the Know” section where you can enter your information.

Mobile App: You can download this to your smart phone by going to the App Store or Google Play and search for “Antioch COS” for up to date notifications.

Social Media: Many members utilize our Facebook page and various Antioch sub-groups for interaction, input, connection and a way to make means known. This is an excellent forum to give and receive ministry amongst members.

Planning Center Online [PCO]: This is our Church Directory that enables us to organize our guests and members into groups for more efficient communication. If you would like to be included in our PCO “Family Members Group” please click on this link and register for this “event” (which is not an event at all, but is the quickest way to gather your information and ensure you are updated.)

ZOOM: Video conferencing platform for LIVE video meetings and webinars. This tool gives us the capability to have and record remote meetings with up to 100 participants.

Phone Number: 719.357.9250 - Please reserve this number for emergencies of a pastoral nature. For general information and inquiries please utilize the website or the email address below.

We have already had some people ask how the church plans on navigating these challenges financially and how people can continue their worship by giving during these times. Your giving helps meet needs both within Antioch and in our community by our partnership with local ministries. Here are a few options:

  1. Access THIS PAGE of the website to give online. [Online Giving Video Tutorial]

  2. Text 84321 with an amount to set up giving via text. [Text to Give Video Tutorial]

  3. Automatic bill pay through your online banking platform.

  4. Mail or Drop off Checks to: Antioch Church. 3958-103 N. Academy Blvd. Colorado Springs, CO. 80917

This morning, as our staff gathered to pray for you, Paul’s words from 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 took center stage: “So we do not lose heart. Even though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is being renewed day by day. For this slight momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all measure, because we look not at what can be seen but at what cannot be seen; for what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal.”

Antioch, do not lose heart but take heart - our God is NEAR!

Grace and Peace to You,

Pastor Jayde
